This study was carried out to propose some useful advices for the improvement policy of the minor rural roads. For detailed case studies on structural improvement level of the minor rural roads, 5 county areas in Chonnarn Province were selected ; Damyang (peri-urban), Gurye(remoter mountainous), Jindo(remostest island), Yuongam(intermediate flat) and Bosung (intermediate semi-mountainous). In each county, the offcial survey data on pavement types, 쟝손 and ratios of district(Myun in Korean) and parish(Ri in Korean) roads were collected. There were no apparent differences between district and parish roads in terms of structural improvement level, while the former was ranked higher than the latter in the minor rural road improvement law, so, the present hierarchial classification system of rural roads should be readjusted. And above a third of minor rural roads in the case study areas did not meet the statutory minimum level of road width, which means the necessity of substantial upgrade of road improvement works in rural areas.

In this study, the longevity index was suggested for researches about social and environmental effects to human immorality and criteria for defining longevity area were developed using statistical analysis. Candidates indexes based on researches about the trend of human death ratio were investigated. As a result statistical analysis ratio of population over 85 years old and over 65 years was selected as a longevity index. Statistical analysis on the longevity distribution at each district showed that `eup` and `myun` are appropriate spatial unit to study social and geographical characteristics of longevity. The spatial analysis using the ArcView^(TM) with the suggested index shows the time dependent variances of degree of immorality and spatial relationship between degree of immorality and human migration.

The study was focused on setting priority for future core technologies in rural development and resources using AHP. The technologies were derived by Delphi method. Evaluation criteria for the priority setting were decided as `technology`, `market oriented`, `public concerns` by council. The future core technologies were divided as four groups by importance and R&D level. Technologies in upper two groups were considered in the study. Group Ⅰ had high importance and high R&D level. Group Ⅱ had high importance and lower R&D level. Questionnaires were given to 9 specialists in agricultural resources. As the results, `public concerns` was decided as most important evaluation criterion. The most important technologies are "technology developing for animal feces and urine treatment, and restoration it to farm land" in group Ⅰ, and "technology developing for agricultural by-products as energy source" in group Ⅱ.
