This study analyzed the effect of young farmers’ stress on farming satisfaction and Intention to Leave the Farming. The analysis targets young people living in rural areas and engaged in agriculture among 4H members nationwide. As a result of the analysis, there were significant differences in stress of young farmers according to the characteristics of the investigator, and there were differences according to family composition and community activities. In addition, family stress and social stress showed significant results according to the type of young farmers, community activities, and economic stress according to the type and family composition of young farmers. And the stress of young farmers had a positive (+) effect on Intention to Leave the Farming, and family and social stress also had a positive (+) effect on Intention to Leave the Farming. In addition, the stress of young farmers affected farming satisfaction, and family stress and social stress also had a negative (-) effect on farming satisfaction. Therefore, efforts will be needed to improve farming satisfaction and reduce Intention to Leave the Farming by reducing stress among young farmers.
As a portal to rural town, Myeon near large cities is expected to represent image of the rural area. But, the landscape are changing rapidly due to development pressure and to the expansion of the transportation network. For visitors and transit traffic, Recognizing that the characteristics of the streetscape is an important task for the vitalization of the rural district. In particular, it was found that the visual quantity of the central street in the location of the town was closely related to the preference of the streetscape, and the visual quantity of trees and the visual quantity of the building showed an inverse relationship of + and - respectively. Since this is not a simple ratio of the sky to the building, but a relative factor, the possibility of landscape improvement can be improved through management of public facilities or green spaces and maintenance of open spaces or gaps between buildings. It seems that it is necessary to secure separate means for the management of the architectural landscape, such as the establishment of a special landscape plan or establishment of ordinances.
Since the village maintenance type public housing project was introduced in 2015, the resident needs for regional revitalization and pleasant living conditions are not being met due to the poor performance of the public housing complexes that reflect the surrounding area maintenance plan (village plan) and regional characteristics. The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to revitalize the village maintenance type public housing project in consideration of regional characteristics as a result of analyzing the needs of local residents through the problems of the village maintenance type public housing project being promoted so far and resident satisfaction. As a result of the analysis based on the public housing project implementation status analysis and resident satisfaction, the plans to activate the village maintenance type public housing project are as follows. First, in order to secure the effectiveness of the village plan, it is desirable to promote the public housing project and the village plan at the same time. It is necessary to secure a budget according to the selection of public offering projects in the village plan, such as promoting public housing projects without setbacks by prioritizing land purchases for public housing sites and establishing specialized strategies considering regional characteristics. Second, a public housing project that responds to local demand is required. The evaluation factors such as continuous promotion of the urban architecture integration plan and strengthening of regional linkage plans such as specialization of regionally tailored designs should be supplemented so that regional resources and village plans are linked with the public housing specialization plan. Third, surrounding area maintenance plan (village plan) should be secured by the strengthen of the legal status or establishing related provisions. It is also necessary to promote system improvement for area maintenance plan (village plan) when selecting a publicly funded public project.
The purpose of this study is to review the effect of previous research data with virtual reality-based Physical Activity Therapy Programs(PATPs) in adult on the physical fitness factors. Research articles were retrieved from 2008 to 2021 with the Research Information Sharing Service(RISS) and Pubmed database. The main search terms were ‘care’, ‘therapy’, ‘healing’, ‘exercise’ or ‘physical activity’, and ‘virtual reality’. The criteria for selecting articles of this study were the originality, duplication, Randomized controlled trial(RCT) experiment and subject. Finally, 18 papers were selected among 318 articles, which were excluded if any of the criteria was not satisfied. Most of papers(15) were conducted in the last 5 years, because of the high interest due to the development of virtual reality implementation technology and COVID-19 pandemic. The participants were mainly patients(8), and the types of diseases were stroke(2). The physical fitness factors were mostly balance ability(7), muscle strength(7), and range of motion(6). All the physical fitness factors were significantly improved after PATPs. However, 11 studies were conducted for less than 4 weeks, including 6 studies were performed a bout of acute exercise. Also, 14 studies did not clearly present the intensity of PATPs. In addition, there were 9 studies, that simply applied games without specialized programs. In conclusion, it seems that virtual reality-based PATPs have a positive effect on physical fitness factors. However, VR-based PATPs should be specialized and developed in order to verify their effectiveness for the further research.
The primary purpose of this study is to identify various factors that affect farmland prices according to changes in the actual transaction price of farmland over the past decade, and to use this to derive policy implications for price stabilization. To this end, the farmland price model are constructed at the parcel level in the case area (Namwon-si, Jinju-si). The analysis method is based on the Hedonic price function, and the OLS and the quantile regression are used for the parcel level model. As a result of estimating the parcel level farmland price model in the case area, the larger the parcel area, the lower the farmland price, and the higher the farmland price outside the agricultural promotion area. It was found that there was a price difference according to the type of special purpose areas, and the location characteristics showed some differences across the cities. The farmland price models presented in this study are suitable for identifying the factors affecting farmland prices, and are expected to be highly utilized in that it is possible to construct flexible variables suitable for regional characteristics.
A Study on the Factors Affecting Utilization of Life SOC Facilities of Rural Center - In the Case of Base District of Seongjeon-myeon Rural Center Revitalization Project of Gangjin-gun -

The purpose of this study is to provide a plan to promote the use of life SOC facilities by analyzing the factors affecting utilization of life SOC facilities established as part of the rural center revitalization project. To this end, we selected Seongjeon-myeon, Gangjin-gun where the rural center revitalization project was implemented, conducted a survey on residents while analyzing the project details, and analyzed the results. This study revealed that the residents with a cognitive level for the rural center revitalization project and life SOC tended to more actively use the life SOC facilities. Therefore, to boost residents’use of the life SOC facilities, it is necessary to promote their understanding of and interest in the rural center revitalization project in the project implementation phase and have them be sufficiently aware of the facilities by operating pilot programs for residents in each facility and holding local events and festivals. This study will lay a steppingstone for active resident use of life SOC facilities established in rural centers and provide basic data for further research.
This study categorizes and identifies the characteristics of the living areas of rural dwellers through cluster analysis using mobile floating population data. As a result, rural areas in Korea were classified into 34 rural living areas, and 5 types of rural living areas were derived. Although the ‘Suburban in Mega City Areas’ and ‘Suburban in Regional City Areas’ derived through this study have advantages in terms of accessibility to large cities, they are important for rural space management as they can undermine the unique values of rural areas due to urban expansion. In addition, ‘Unclassified areas’ have low accessibility in the national space, and there is a need to provide their own settlement environment. The population of rural areas in Korea exhibited a phenomenon of widespread migration. This means that rural residents who depend on metropolitan areas are provided with SOC beyond administrative boundaries. Therefore, there is a need to move away from establishing a homogeneous regional plan that does not consider population movement. Through this study, it was possible to understand the rural living area formed by the population movement occurring in the rural area. This is different in that the existing studies classified the national space based on the interconnectedness between regions, beyond the limitations of categorizing regions with homogeneous characteristics based on endogenous indicators. At this point in time when the need for a rural space plan is emphasized, it is important to understand the living area of rural dwellers and to design an appropriate rural plan. Therefore, the establishment of a rural plan suitable for the region using the results of this study can increase the efficiency of the project for revitalization of the rural area and contribute to the creation of an attractive national space.
The food self-sufficiency rate of agricultural products in Korea, excluding rice, is around 20%, and the government is promoting various policies including a Multiple-Purpose Utilization of Paddy Fields project, to increase the self-sufficiency rate of major grains. The project for Multiple-Purpose Utilization of Paddy Fields is being promoted as a part of a program to create farmland infrastructure to facilitate the cultivation of crops other than rice in rice paddies, and pilot projects were started in four regions in 2020. The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic effects of the pilot project for Multiple-Purpose Utilization of Paddy Fields, and to propose policies to increase the effectiveness of the project. In order to analyze the economic effect, we estimated the change in farm income generated by switching from rice to other crops, and measured the effect of welfare change using the Equilibrium Displacement Model (EDM). As a result of the analysis, social welfare is expected to increase when the pilot project for Multiple-Purpose Utilization of Paddy Fields is implemented, and the income of the beneficiary farmers is also expected to improve compared to that of single-cropping when double-cropping is implemented. However, it was found that the economic feasibility of the project differs depending on the crops converted. Juksan-myeon, Gimje-si, which is an area where soybean production was successful, was analyzed from the viewpoint of increasing the economic feasibility of the pilot project. Their success factors were analyzed into four major factors: infrastructure, farming methods, education, and collaboration with local agricultural organizations. If such a success story can be utilized in the future project implementation process, it can contribute to the improvement of farm household income and national economic welfare.
As part of strengthening energy security and responding to climate change, the government has promoted various renewable energy measures to increase the development of renewable energy facilities. As a result, small-scale solar installations in rural areas have increased rapidly. The number of complaints from local residents is increasing. Therefore, in this study, deep learning technology is applied to high-resolution aerial images on the internet to detect solar power plants installed in rural areas to determine whether or not solar power plants are installed. Specifically, I examined the solar facility detector generated by training the YOLO(You Only Look Once) v2 object detector and looked at its usability. As a result, about 800 pieces of training data showed a high object detection rate of 93%. By constructing such an object detection model, it is expected that it can be utilized for land use monitoring in rural areas, and it can be utilized as a spatial data construction plan for rural areas using technology for detecting small-scale agricultural facilities.
