Rural landscape is an outcome of residents` life activity based on natural environment. Unlike city, rural residents make their own landscape over a period of time interacting with nature through cultivating and building houses and huts based on the background. Therefore, residents` role in rural area is of greater importance than city`s and their recognition of landscape is a key factor to evaluate and manage rural landscape. Landscape Evaluation Map which utilizing Feeling Map method is a evaluation tool to find out residents` recognition of landscape. In this tool, responses evaluate landscape around their living space and mark color dots which mean landscape grade on a map. This research is to examine effectiveness and applicability of the tool, Landscape Evaluation Map, which is recommended to estimate residents` evaluation of landscape. Through analyzing 7 cases of field application, the effectiveness of Landscape Evaluation Map has been verified and also demerits have been drawn. After modifying detailed techniques and developing resident education, Landscape evaluation map could be applied to find out landscape resources rather than to evaluate whole rural landscape.

Daily living area can be delimited differently depending on what area is to be focused. Based on regional interaction, the present study empirically analyzed the difference between living areas focusing on rural area and ones relying on urban area. We established two types of living areas in Busan-Ulsan mega city with different focus areas (rural versus urban), using travel OD data (2006). According to the result, the form of spatial clusters in urban living area differed from that of spatial clusters in rural area; the boundaries of living area were not fit to those of administrative areas in both types; and living areas in both types tended to extend over more than two administrative areas. The results cast some implications concerning spatial planning and policy for living area delimitation. First, since the spatial structure and interconnection of urban area differs to those of rural area, it is required to delimit living areas discriminatively depending on the objectives of the spatial plan. Additionally, the living area should be established more specifically and systematically by further subdividing the form of spaces depending on the objectives and types of the plan. Second, the administrative areas should be consolidated now that the difference of boundaries of administrative and living areas lead to inconvenience of residents, increased administration costs and scale diseconomy. Lastly, the living areas should be delimited by the metropolitan or mega city planning and thus be reflected to its offsprings.

This study was performed with 239 dwellers who live in the city, visited rural tourism village. This study investigated the relationship of servicescape perception of rural tourism village and tourist satisfaction and behavior intention. The servicescape factors of rural tourism village consist of artificial factors and social factors. Social factors affect more total satisfaction, service satisfaction and environmental satisfaction more than artificial factors, but facilities satisfaction is more affected by artificial factors than Social factors. Total satisfaction and service satisfaction and environmental satisfaction influence behavior intention but facilities satisfaction does not. Total satisfaction has the biggest influence on behavior intention. This means that for successful rural tourism village development, social factors should be considered than artificial factors.

Climate change is known to affect both natural and managed ecosystems, and will likely impact on the terrestrail carbon balance. This paper reports the effects of climate change on spatial-temporal changes in carbon reductions in South Korea`s during 2000-2100. Future carbon (C) stock distributions are simulated for the same period using various spatial data sets including land cover, net primary production(NPP) and leaf area index (LAI) obtained from MODIS(Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer), and climate data from Data Assimilation Office(DAO) and Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA). This study attempts to predict future NPP using multiple linear regression and to model dependence of soil respiration on soil temperature. Plants store large amounts of carbon during the growing periods. During 2030-2100, Carbon accumulation in vegetation was increased to 566 ~ 610gC/㎡/year owing to climate change. On the other hand, soil respiration is a key ecosystem process that releases carbon from the soil in the form of carbon dioxide. The estimated soil respiration spatially ranged from 49gC/㎡/year to 231gC/㎡/year in the year of 2010, and correlating well with the reference value. This results include Spatial-Temporal C reduction variation caused by climate change. Therefore this results is more comprehensive than previous results. The uncertainty in this study is still large, but it can be reduced if a detailed map becomes available.

Among the towns of GyeongJu and SamCheok on which I have surveyed about their amenity resources in 2010, I chose 5 towns that are close to the Eastsea to analyze the data and to devise how to revitalize fishing villages. And the results are as follows. 1. Although Yangbuk-myeon is geographically located to have all the aspects of fishing village, farming village, and mountain village, the resources utilized are mainly that of mountain village. There is need to utilize actively historical amenity resources like Munmudaewangreung of Yangbuk-myeon. 2. The use of amenity resources of Yangnam-myeon is centered on farm and mountain village. But if they utilize amenity resources of fishing villages of Eupcheon-port`s neighborhood, it would be a big help for the revitalization of Yangnam-myeon which is depressed. 3. The fishing mackerels on boat of Gampo-eup Jeonchonri is a successful example of utilization of fishing village`s amenity resources. However, there is need to utilize amenity resources of farming and mountain villages that are near to Gampo-eup, so it can attract visitors to stay longer. Particularly, the fishing villages of the East coast must develop 4 seasons program connecting the amenity resources of neighboring farm and mountain. 4. Geundeok-myeon is a town where they made the amenity resources of fishing village into tourist attractions. But considering the wide gap between Geundeok-myeon and neighboring fishing, farming and mountain villages that cannot get the advantage of development, there has to be some inducement in policy so every town can be developed evenly. 5. After analyzing how the towns utilize the amenity resources to make them tourist attraction, it is shown that Geundeok-myeon of SamCheok is the best town which is using fishing village`s amenity resources well, and Yangnam-myeon and Yangbuk-myeon of GyeongJu are scarcely using them. About types of tourist attraction, the programs with scenic view of fishing village, with water-sport, and with Eco-experience are needed to improved.

As rural landscape is considered important elements of rurality, there are many concerns about management and conservation. Rural development administration have performed rural amenity resources survey project in South Korea from 2005 for verifying states and efficient management of rural amenity. There are some problems about ambiguous definition of rural landscape range and data overlap. In this research, we reviewed rural amenity resources survey focusing rural landscape and analysized elements of 50 complex landscape resources in 2008 rural amenity selection 100. Finally, we suggested landscape viewpoint resource table in place of rural landscape because it can minimize data overlap in survey project.
